Opening day for the Northwoods Golf Club was in October of 1990. The club owes its beauty to designer P.B. Dye, son of world renowned architect, Pete Dye. He envisioned a 6,800 yard, par 72 golfers dream among the stately trees and greenery of central South Carolina. His dream was realized on opening day in 1990. The club now serves the public with tournaments, golf lessons, and an enjoyable golf course for everyone.

The South Carolina climate allows the golf club to operate 365 days each year. Our head professional, Greg McBride, has been here since the beginning. He is one of the finest players in all of South Carolina, having spent his college days playing for the University of South Carolina. He continues his golf career teaching people the secrets to the game of golf and playing regularly as a member of the South Carolina Palmetto Cup Team.

Assistant Professional, Burke Cromer, has won three South Carolina PGA Player of the Year Awards. As a fixture at the club, he helps golfers of all levels play a better game.
